Located in the northern part of the city of Chingmai, this resort has a killer view of landscapes of mountain streams, rice fields, tea field of Chingmai. With 4 catagories of rooms/bungalows, available to suit different traveler's need and provides total privacy. The design has remained true to the region’s unique Lanna character, but infused with some modern approach.

True Eclectic I enjoy

Abigail Ahern posted this image (source unknown) on her blog, and it's a true eclectic setting I enjoy seeing and that I can actually imagine myself sitting there without feeling overwhelmed or afraid of knocking things over or getting poked by something sharp (yes....reminds me of our office's living room). The sailboat chandelier is georgous and the color and furniture combination is comfortable. not so keen on the wood paneled wall, but acceptable in this setting. =)

Moat Garden

Apartment Therapy posted about these miniature gardens created by a garden design competition. They are so adorable and inspirational! This contest is called Landskrona, a Sweden Garden Guild contest that takes place every August, where each contestants build a garden environment on a little moat.

Giorgio Armani NY Flagship

Giorgio Armani fashion house opened up his flagship store in New York's Fifth Ave last Februry with this unrealistic staircase inside! The fashion house has four-levels housing its clothing collections and accessories from Giorgio and Emporio to Armani Jeans, the home line Armani/Casa, Armani/Dolci confectionaries as well as a restaurant and a BAR.
The space with its scuptured swirling staircase was designed by architects Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas.

Hotel for Purification

Following my rave of the high-rise w/backyard by Meir Lobaton + Kristjan Donaldson in Mexico City (see here), here's another cool project by LEGORRETA + LEGORRETA, SerranoMonjaraz Arquitectos in Puebla, México. This building used to be an ice factory where water is bottled and purified ~ the hotel is now called La Purificadora Hotel. Combining new and old elements of the building, the architects and designers created an amazing design.

My dream Apartment

My dream apartment is being built in Mexico City! I've always want to live in a high rise with a backyard, and Meir Lobaton and Kristjan Donaldson is achieving this. Too bad not in a city I plan to live in. According to Arch Daily, "Each floor plan is organized around a single apartment type that is 400 square meters with a gardened extension of approximately 160 square meters. By rotating the apartments 90 degrees at successive levels, the gardens sit above the cantilevered bedrooms of the apartment below." OMG.....
